Thermowells

Drilled thermowells are manufactured from a single piece of bar stock. No welds are used in their construction. Flanged thermowells are made from two pieces of metal, a single piece of bar stock for the stem, and the flange from a piece of drilled flat stock. The two pieces are then welded and finished. All configurations shown are available in a variety of materials. Common styles are shown below each drawing. Note: Insertion length for the thermowells in this section (top half) is determined by adding the A dimension with the inside tip thickness (1/4"), less the lag (if any) plus 1 1/4". [(A + 1/4)- (Lag + 3/4{standard hex head} + 1{thread length})] The following chart shows insertion lengths for some common A dimensions.
