Aircraft environmental systems and fluid circuits need temperature measurements that remain dependable through vibration, moisture and changing thermal conditions. Minco’s S239610 RTD and TS239620 thermistor probes provide two sensing technologies in fully hermetic stainless-steel designs for aerospace applications.

Two Models for Different Measurement Requirements

The S239610 is a platinum RTD probe. Its published continuous-use range is -55 to 300°C, and Minco describes short-duration excursions up to 500°C separately from that continuous rating. The TS239620 uses a 10,000-ohm thermistor with ±1% resistance tolerance at 25°C. It covers -55 to 260°C continuously and is designed for frequent excursions to 300°C.

Both models have AISI 304/304L external surfaces and a MIL-DTL-38999 connector. In water flowing at 1 m/s, the datasheet gives a 63.2% response time of one second for the RTD and less than one second for the thermistor.

Minco publishes model-specific RTCA DO-160G qualification tables covering environmental conditions such as temperature and altitude, humidity, shock, vibration, fluids, water and icing. The listed temperature/altitude category is D3 for S239610 and D2 for TS239620.

Qualification should be checked against the intended installation. Sections 16–21 are omitted from the manufacturer’s tables because they require consideration with other system components; sections 23 and 25 are marked not applicable. A model’s qualification record should not be treated as approval of an entire aircraft system.
